New Honorary Membership of PARBICA Awarded
We are delighted to announce that the PARBICA membership has decided to award Karin Brennan with honorary membership of PARBICA in recognition of the significant contribution she has made to PARBICA over her many years of service.
Karin's involvement with PARBICA spans over 23 years. She first became involved with the organisation back in 1990 before serving on the PARBICA bureau as Secretary-General from 1994-1999. In more recent years, from 2009, Karin has been the dedicated editor of PARBICA's newsletter Panorama.
Karin has been an integral member of PARBICA over these many years and her understanding and knowledge of the governance both of ICA and PARBICA has been invaluable to both past and present members of the Bureau.
Karin is the University Archivist at the University of New South Wales in Australia where she manages the official archival records of the University and private records of former officers, university related organisations and other individuals connected to the University, as well as oral histories.
A long term member of the International Council on Archives (ICA) and the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA), Karin is highly regarded within both the Australian and international archival communities. Her volunteer placement to fill a casual vacancy in the ASA in 2011 as a delegate with the responsibility of the duties of Treasurer, and with her commitment and dedication to help the ASA through what was then some difficult times, was truly outstanding.
Congratulations Karin, we are proud to have you as an honorary member of our organisation.
