PARBICA Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit – Interview with Eric Boamah

23 July 2018

With the assistance of the Programme Commission of the International Council on Archives, five new guidelines in PARBICA's Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit are being developed. The guidelines will cover topics of disaster management, identifying vital business records and assessing significant records in collections. These guidelines will be published in late 2018.

As part of our continuing series on the specialist volunteers who have contributed to this project, we're profiling Eric Boamah. Eric is a Lecturer in Information and Library Studies at the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. Eric kindly peer reviewed the guideline on identifying vital business records which was written by PARBICA Secretary-General Lillie Le Dorre.

In the interview below, we spoke to Eric about how teaching in a school in rural Ghana led to him working in information management in New Zealand. He also spoke to us about his passion for information and the challenges facing information management professionals in the Pacific and Africa.
