Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit – Author Profile – Brandon Oswald
22 Mar 2018
With the assistance of the Programme Commission of the ICA, five new guidelines for PARBICA's Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit are being developed. The guidelines will cover topics of disaster management, identifying vital business records and assessing significant records in collections.
PARBICA has been privileged to have many specialists volunteer their time to develop these guidelines. One of them is Brandon Oswald, author of guidelines on Disaster Preparedness, Disaster Response and Disaster Recovery for archives. Brandon is the Founder and Executive Director of nonprofit organisation Island Culture Archival Support, that is dedicated to providing voluntary archival assistance to Pacific cultural heritage organisations. He is an active PARBICA member and serves on the ICA Expert Group- Emergency Management and Disaster Preparedness.
Brandon took some time out to talk to us about his early career in archives, love of the Pacific (especially feasts), his past volunteer work and passion for disaster management. You can read a full transcript of our interview with Brandon below.
